Terms of Service

The Gym Connect is a marketplace that connects coaches, trainers and instructors (coaches) with gyms, studios, courts and other facilities that rent out space by the hour (venues). These terms are an agreement between you and The Gym Connect Inc. and apply whenever you use the website or its services.

By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use The Gym Connect.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to open an account. One account can be used to coach, to list space, or both.

• Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
• Confirm your email address before making a booking. We may ask for further verification before you can list space or be paid.

A booking is a contract between the coach and the venue for the use of a space at the times shown. The Gym Connect provides the platform and handles payment, but is not a party to that contract and does not own or operate any venue.

• Instant book spaces confirm immediately. Request spaces are confirmed only once the venue accepts.
• Times are shown in the venue's local timezone. Arrive and leave within your booked window, because the buffers between sessions exist so the next booking can start on time.
• Use the space only for the activity and the number of people you booked for, and follow the venue's house rules.

Venues set their own prices. The total you see before confirming a booking includes the hourly rate, any The Gym Connect service fee and applicable taxes. Prices are charged in CAD unless shown otherwise.

Payments are processed by our payment provider; The Gym Connect never stores full card numbers. Venues receive their earnings, less our commission, once a session has taken place, through the payout account they connect.

Each space shows its cancellation policy on its listing and again before you pay. That policy decides any refund when a coach cancels, and the schedules are set out in full on the cancellation policy page.

• If a venue cancels a confirmed booking, the coach receives a full refund.
• If something goes wrong with a session, message the venue first. If that does not resolve it, contact The Gym Connect support: we review evidence from both sides and may issue a full or partial refund, as set out in refunds and disputes.

If you list a space, you confirm that:

• You have the right to rent it out for the uses you describe.
• Photos, equipment, capacity and amenities are accurate and current.
• The space is safe, meets local laws and regulations, and is covered by appropriate insurance.
• You state any insurance you require coaches to hold, so they can check before booking.

We may review, suspend or remove listings that are inaccurate, unsafe or break these terms.

Coaches are independent professionals, not employees or agents of The Gym Connect or of any venue. You are responsible for your clients, your programming and any qualifications your work requires.

Carry the liability insurance a venue asks for and be able to show it on request. Leave the space, and its equipment, as you found it.

• Keep communication and payment on The Gym Connect. Email addresses and phone numbers are hidden in messages until a booking is confirmed, so that every booking keeps its payment protection.
• Reviews can only be left after a completed booking and must describe a genuine experience. Do not offer or accept anything in exchange for a review.
• Do not harass anyone, discriminate, post unlawful content, or try to interfere with the platform's security.

Physical training carries a risk of injury. Coaches and venues are each responsible for the safety of their own activities and premises. To the extent the law allows, The Gym Connect is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from a session, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

You can ask our support team to close your account at any time; we close it once you have no upcoming bookings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is used for fraud. Bookings already confirmed will be handled under the applicable cancellation policy.

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change is significant we will let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use The Gym Connect after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
